Favourite Miele Moments From 2021
As we embark on a new year there’s no better time to look back at the year that was, highlighting our favourite Miele moments that we celebrated and shared with our partners.
The Future Food System
In February we were proud to announce our partnership with Joost Bakker’s Future Food System project in the heart of Federation Square, by embracing the ‘zero waste’ philosophy, and supporting Bakker’s quest to demystify self-sufficiency and sustainability in everyday life. With the help of resident chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett, they hosted events and guests for dinner, planted and harvested food that was sourced and grown on site and created inspiring meals with Miele appliances.
With sustainability an integral part of our brand identity here at Miele, we were honoured to be chosen to feature our energy-saving appliances and partner with one of Australia’s leading sustainability and zero waste advocates.

Our 10th Experience Centre
Following the success of our partnership with the Future Food System house and Joost Bakker, in March we launched our new Westfield Doncaster Experience Centre bringing Miele appliances and expertise to Melbourne’s leafy and thriving east. With the increase in online shopping over the past year, we wanted to offer our customers a truly immersive and interactive in-store experience by hosting free live cooking and appliance demonstrations from our Miele experts.
The latest of our ten Experience Centres, it was an exciting milestone for the Miele Australia team with the new store featuring the latest in Miele’s cooking and appliance range, all with innovative digital touchpoints that enable customers to design their own state of the art kitchen!

The brand of CHOICE and Good Design
After a rollercoaster year with store closures, nothing lifted our spirits more than being recognised for our commitment to the craftmanship and performance of our appliances. We were excited and humbled to be acknowledged by CHOICE, Australia’s leading consumer and advocacy group for their Best Brand Awards for our front-loading washing machines and barrel vacuums. With their rigorous judging process based on member surveys and customer satisfaction – we certainly felt the love and will continue to strive to provide only the best to our customers.
Not only were we recognised for our laundry and floorcare categories this year, we were once again delighted to be announced as a Good Design Award winner for our G 7000 dishwasher range for design excellence. With The Australian Good Design Awards one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious international awards for design and innovation, we couldn’t be prouder and more delighted to be highlighted for our dedication to the craftmanship and design of our latest dish range.
Our commitment to the planet
Alongside the milestones and awards from this year, we wanted to shed light on our commitment to the environment and sustainability after a year full of uncertainties. With the future of our planet in mind, every decision of our manufacturing process – from the vehicles we use to the packaging of our appliances, we are proud to say we have set new and ambitious goals to achieve carbon reduction targets by increasing energy efficiency in our buildings and processes, reduce CO2 emissions in our vehicle fleet, along with working towards utilising 100% green power.
With the aim to be carbon neutral by 2030, we look forward to sharing more on the initiatives that we’re implementing to make positive changes to protect our planet for future generations.
